Surah Hud, Ayah 8

وَلَئِنْ أَخَّرْنَا عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابَ إِلَىٰ أُمَّةٍ مَعْدُودَةٍ لَيَقُولُنَّ مَا يَحْبِسُهُ أَلَا يَوْمَ يَأْتِيهِمْ لَيْسَ مَصْرُوفًا عَنْهُمْ وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
Walain akhkharna AAanhumu alAAathaba ila ommatin maAAdoodatin layaqoolunna ma yahbisuhu ala yawma yateehim laysa masroofan AAanhum wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona

Hilali & KhanAnd if We delay the torment for them till a determined Ummah (term), they are sure to say, "What keeps it back" Verily, on the day it reaches them, nothing will turn it away from them, and they will be surrounded by (or fall in) that at which they used to mock!

Ahsan ul Bayan (Junagarhi)اور اگر ہم ان سے عذاب کو گنی چنی مدت تک کے لئے پیچھے ڈال دیں تو یہ ضرور پکار اٹھیں گے کہ عذاب کو کون سی چیز روکے ہوئے ہے، سنو! جس دن وه ان کے پاس آئے گا پھر ان سے ٹلنے واﻻ نہیں پھر تو جس چیز کی ہنسی اڑا رہے تھے وه انہیں گھیر لے گی
