وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ فَاخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِنْ رَبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَفِي شَكٍّ مِنْهُ مُرِيبٍ
Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba faikhtulifa feehi walawla kalimatun sabaqat min rabbika laqudiya baynahum wainnahum lafee shakkin minhu mureebin

Hilali & KhanAnd indeed We gave Musa the Scripture, but dispute arose therein. And had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord, and the matter would have been settled between them. But truly, they are in grave doubt thereto.

Ahsan ul Bayan (Junagarhi)یقیناً ہم نے موسیٰ (علیہ السلام) کو کتاب دی تھی، سو اس میں بھی اختلاف کیا گیا اور اگر (وه) بات نہ ہوتی (جو) آپ کے رب کی طرف سے پہلے ہی مقرر ہو چکی ہے۔ توان کے درمیان (کبھی کا) فیصلہ ہو چکا ہوتا، یہ لوگ تو اس کے بارے میں سخت بےچین کرنے والے شک میں ہیں
