Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 234
البقرة · The Cow · verse 234 of 286
وَالَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنْكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَاجًا يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنْفُسِهِنَّ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا فَإِذَا بَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِيمَا فَعَلْنَ فِي أَنْفُسِهِنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ
Waallatheena yutawaffawna minkum wayatharoona azwajan yatarabbasna bianfusihinna arbaAAata ashhurin waAAashran faitha balaghna ajalahunna fala junaha AAalaykum feema faAAalna fee anfusihinna bialmaAAroofi waAllahu bima taAAmaloona khabeerun

Hilali & KhanAnd those of you who die and leave wives behind them, they (the wives) shall wait (as regards their marriage) for four months and ten days, then when they have fulfilled their term, there is no sin on you if they (the wives) dispose of themselves in a (just and) honorable manner (i.e., they can marry). And Allah is well-acquainted with what you do.

Ahsan ul Bayan (Junagarhi)تم میں سے جو لوگ فوت ہوجائیں اور بیویاں چھوڑ جائیں، وه عورتیں اپنے آپ کو چار مہینے اور دس (دن) عدت میں رکھیں، پھر جب مدت ختم کرلیں تو جو اچھائی کے ساتھ وه اپنے لئے کریں اس میں تم پر کوئی گناه نہیں اور اللہ تعالیٰ تمہارے ہر عمل سے خبردار ہے
